Great post, Red. I had such a crush on Shaun Evans in this show. I actually watched the series twice, but so many years had passed in between it was all new to me again. I may do that again in a year or two. I didn't know about this Stack but Brit Mysteries are my fave, so subscribing now.
I have tried to get into Endeavor twice before—it was definitely me and not the show that failed. I just wasn’t in the right mood or something. Also I loved John Thaw so much, I couldn’t make the transition to the younger Morse. This post has convinced me to try again.
I started watching Frost recently—pacing not bingeing. I’m into the beginning of the third season and am quite fond of Frost now.
I think some shows are meant to be enjoyed slowly. There are some series I’ve tried, and tried again, and they just didn’t resonate with me. This is definitely a series that you need to be in a certain mood to watch, much like Foyle’s War or Miss Fisher’s.
I haven’t tried Miss Fisher, but Foyle is one of my favorite shows of all time. Anthony Horowitz is so talented. I think I've loved everything of his that I have watched /read/listened to.
One of our favorites, have watched it twice. If you are a fan of Roger Allam (Fred Thursday) watch “Murders in Provence”, good show
Yes! I liked it, too. I’m hoping Evans returns to mysteries in some other capacity eventually.

Yay! Welcome, we’re glad to have you!
Reda! Sorry for dropping the A.
It’s ok!

I loved the show. Even watched reruns.
I love this series!
Thank you, Reda. I love Morse, Endeavour and Lewis, and your recommendation of pacing not bingeing. Like slow living for TV shows.
I loved this piece. You perfectly captured Endeavour's quiet genius and that rich, melancholic Oxford atmosphere.
