I don’t really have anything to add 😄 I think you covered it all. It was great to see Jodie Foster in a solid role.

Some people like to read stories bc they fit in neat little boxes and leave no questions. I like stories that mimic real life best which meant more questions than answers and we were left to give our own meaning to storylines within the show. It was one of the most entertaining shows I’ve seen in a very long while. As an Indigenous woman, I loved it.

Agreed. I think it’s to Issa Lopez’s credit that I wished the series was longer instead of shorter.

I completely agree, I wish it was longer! (Should have been)

Thanks for this great analysis, Reda. I’m grateful to you for providing the context that was missing, particularly the references to Season One. I agree, six episodes were inadequate. So many missed opportunities to develop the characters, to let the story evolve in an organic way. And Rose! So disappointing that she wasn’t brought in as she should have been. Sigh.

I love Fiona Shaw! I would have loved an expansion and more background of her character Rose. I thought that character was so intriguing and brought so much to the series.

This review brilliantly captures the essence of True Detective: Night Country. The atmospheric setting in Ennis, Alaska, and the intriguing plot involving missing scientists are excellently highlighted. Your comparison to The X-Files and Twin Peaks adds depth. The exploration of indigenous struggles and environmental issues enriches the narrative. I'm unsure if it has been mentioned before, but it reminded me of Fargo, too; this might be me, tbf.
