Grace and Line of Duty are some intense police procedural British dramas, too. Line of Duty is probably my 2nd favorite cop show; The Shield is #1.
I’d also recommend The Cleaner with Greg Davies if you’re into his comedy.

Yes, I really like The Wire, too. Very well done, as are most HBO shows and series.
The Cleaner is just too funny! British shows are just so solid and well done.

I think The Shield’s pilot episode is the best pilot I’ve ever seen. The way that it ends: 🤯. The series finale episode’s ending is just 🤯, too.
I've never heard of After Party! It looks amazing. I love the cast!
